More Active Girls In Computing
GMS is proud to be entering enter its 9th year of partnership with the MAGIC (More Active Girls in Computing) program. The vision of the MAGIC program is to be a world-class resource for guiding and assisting young women seriously considering studying Computer Science or another STEM discipline, by matching girls with mentors who share their interests. Each MAGIC participant is expected to make a serious commitment to the program, working outside of school for a few hours each week pursuing her STEM interest, as guided by her mentor. Applications link is available below. Students in all three grades are eligible, but it is important to note that due to the limited availability of mentors each year, we are only able to match a subset of our applicants with a mentor. Applications will require a parent's signature. You can learn more by visiting the MAGIC website or by contacting Tricia Kellison, GMS Computer Science Department Chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
