Entrepreneurial Studies
Course Description
In the Entrepreneurial Program, seventh-grade girls have the unique opportunity to experience creating and running a business of their own. Working in small groups of four to five girls, students write business plans, request start-up capital from investors, receive funding for their companies, make product samples, manufacture inventory, and sell their products or services to real-world customers. Drawing upon lessons learned in many aspects of The Girls’ Middle School curriculum, the girls learn firsthand the importance of creativity, teamwork, communication, consensus-building, personal responsibility, and compromise as they experience the joys and frustrations of running their own businesses.
